The Bus from Siem Reap to Battambang

Well, all was looking promising when we boarded the "big bus" with air con and the thing was half full. I placed myself close to the front of the bus and happily put my bag beside me and set in for a relaxing trip. Then the cavalry arrived and a shed load of Khmer boarded the bus! There was chaos as we were reaped from our seats and arranged Backpacker to Backpacker. Easier for conversation apparently. So I was sat next to a nice fella from Scotland and 7 Cambodian kids! We were the back seat bandits and the kids were very excited to be sitting next to us. So, Away we go....Back down the road to the border...Oh yes you got it..The one that looked like a moon crater and felt like I was having a spine relocation operation. Well only halfway down it but that was enough. Halfway through the trip the Air con stopped and the windows were unable to be opened. It was our own personal sauna. Fantastic!! And then came the dust! Somewhere...I think it was the floor, came bellows of red dust that made it unbearable to breath and the whole time I was thinking of my poor lungs. All we going well apart from bouncing around in a pressure cooker unable to breath when I was busting to go to the loo.
I had to stop the bus on the side of the road so I could relieve the bladder before I wet my pants. I couldn't wait I was just desperate. This caused my confusion to all the people on the bus and all eyes followed my path to the bush. All i could think about was not my embarrassment but land mines!! Here I was thinking I just need to pee and it was all going to come to an end cause I bared my white ass in the wrong place!
All was good and I relieved my bladder and back on to the bus to a chorus of Khmer Gibber! I was a tad embarrassed then but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do!

Than came the rain! This made the road next to impossible but we finally made it to Battambang...And surprise surprise...The bus didn't leak!
