Sen Monorom to Kratie

The bus trip to Kratie was painful! We were crammed onto a mini bus with 20 others and the second we took off the Khmer music was Blasting from the stereo and over joyful people were lip sinking on the TV. It was 7.30 in the morning, and way too early for this.
The driver was oblivious to the westerners screams and groans of "please turn it down! Please!" I thought he was enjoying the torture it was giving us.
The bus broke down and we all had to pile off into a shadeless dirt road and left there to bake until they fixed the bus. The saving grace was it didn't take too long.
Back on the bus, back on the music and back down a dusty road that was made so bumpy by the latest rain. I thought I was going to be permanently injured by bouncing around violently in my seat.
Then we stopped at Sanoul, the town of doom. The place previoulsy mentioned as the bus exchange, were we had to wait and change our bus to Kratie. We bunkered down in the tiniest bit of shade we could find and tried to find out were the next bus would be.....
Firstly it was at 11.30 am it was now 12.
Secondly, they wanted us to pay another $2 for the rest of the trip because I ticket only said we had paid only to Sanoul and that we paid $5 not $7. Well I was tired and hot and I had had enough!!
I explained that we had paid the due fair and that we were not paying anymore and that he needed to take it up with the ticket seller in Sen Monorom. As it panned out the ticket seller "forgot" to pass on the extra $2 and inform the driver we had paid and were off to Kratie.
So ll sorted, and the bus finally arrived and we were off! Ahhhh.
